ABOUT IPHIE

The International Partnership for Health Informatics Education seeks to promote education through international collaboration of graduate and undergraduate training programs in Medical and Health Informatics.

Established in 1998, the partnership now consists of the Academic University Center – University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), University of Heidelberg/ Fachhochschule Heilbronn (Germany), University of Minnesota (Twin Cities, MN, USA), University of Utah (Salt Lake City, UT, USA),), University of Washington (Seattle, WA, USA) and Taipei Medical University (TMU, Taipei, Taiwan). Some of these universities offered medical informatics programs at the B. Sc., M. Sc. and PhD. Level, while others only offered the M. Sc. and PhD. Degree.

Activities include yearly Master Classes, workshops on International Medical Informatics Congresses and active exchange of both students and faculty among IPHIE partner universities. An international module on Strategic Management of Hospital Information Systems of the European partner universities now is formally integrated and credited as a structural course in each of the European Medical Informatics programs.
